This historically situated and incredibly researched biography of Stalin will certainly teach you a lot but I fear it suffers from a miscalculation of depth of focus- it's too long to read as a useful summary of events, but far too short to give the reader a chance to understand and identify with the major players as characters.

Both the sci-fi elements and the scientist characters are really fun and involving in this carl sagan book adaptation - but on the other hand the love interest is really annoying and the movie should’ve been 30 minutes shorter.

the gentlemen (2019)

While this Guy Ritchie movie doesn’t live up to its forebears (in my humble opinion) in terms of snappy dialogue and humor, it was certainly funny at times, and the twists were nice and exciting, and colin farrell’s character was a classic.
