Ori and the Will of the Wisps

I don’t play many video games so take this with a grain of salt, but this creative and cutesy platformer had a bunch of neat puzzles and mechanics, and while certain segments seemed unnecessarily challenging, others were a lot of fun and the art design was consistently gorgeous.

Journey (2012)

This is a beautiful and beautifully short exploration video game that there are, to this day, still people hopping into and playing, which is cool, because there is a light multiplayer component in which you get paired with a fellow traveler at random and it makes the whole thing quite delightful.

the legend of zelda: tears of the kingdom (2023)

I don’t play many video games because when I do I get utterly sucked in and addicted - so it’s good that I only play the best ones, of which this is for sure one, surely game of the year all around, an incredible technical achievement, a beautiful and fun adventure, etc, altho I did find it to be a little on the long and grindy side.

subnautica (2014)

I don’t often play video games, but when I do I like to pick a really deep, immersive, beautiful experience to become completely obsessed with to the point that I can’t think about anything else, sink 53 hours into it enjoying every minute of it, and then never play it again - and subnautica was perfect.
