Manchester hits the nail on the head with this biography of Douglas MacArthur, and I strongly recommend it to any history buff - interesting, well-written, approachable but with a great level of research and detail, and at the same time not so long as to get bogged down.

Both the sci-fi elements and the scientist characters are really fun and involving in this carl sagan book adaptation - but on the other hand the love interest is really annoying and the movie should’ve been 30 minutes shorter.

the gentlemen (2019)

While this Guy Ritchie movie doesn’t live up to its forebears (in my humble opinion) in terms of snappy dialogue and humor, it was certainly funny at times, and the twists were nice and exciting, and colin farrell’s character was a classic.
