a delightful easy going feel good romp about a young orphan girl in the great depression; notable themes include gender ambiguity and an atypical relationship (a healthy friendship between a mid thirties dude and a 9 year old girl).
Both the sci-fi elements and the scientist characters are really fun and involving in this carl sagan book adaptation - but on the other hand the love interest is really annoying and the movie should’ve been 30 minutes shorter.
